Matset Eurasia Packaging at Istanbul Fair
04.03.2020
Matset Eurasia Packaging exhibited HP Indigo 6K and 25K digital printing machines and Brotech finishing machine at the Istanbul Fair.
Matset attended the fair with a large team and welcomed its visitors in the area where it was present in previous years. The company, which has added new representations on the packaging side to its portfolio in recent years, reinforces its expanded service range with its effective service staff. We received the evaluations of Matset Sales Manager Önder Babataş at the fair.
- You welcome your visitors with your HP Indigo and Brotech machines at your stand. What kind of reactions do you get, what are the features of the machines you exhibit?
As of today, I can say that the fair has been busy, lively and somewhat fruitful. It is an enjoyable fair cycle. Of course, the number of machines we brought to the fair attracts people even more. We have HP Indigo 6K and HP Indigo 25K at our stand.
Indigo 6 K is a label-oriented machine, but its capabilities are unlimited. We call it a label because the printing width is 33 cm. Normally, it has the ability to print on all types of packaging, including sleeves and flexible packaging. The same goes for 25K. Its main difference is that it has a printing area of 76 cm. In addition to label and packaging companies, flexible packaging companies are also interested in him.
Our 6K machine, which we exhibited at the fair, will be installed in Yeniler Label. Later, we will install one in Etisan and one in Turkuaz. These machines are on the way. Our 25K machine will be installed in E-Pack Ambalaj, a company that has just entered the Turkish market.
We also brought the Brotech finishing machine. We have been working with Brotech for a long time. We did not have an exclusive partnership situation before. Now we are Turkey's only authorized dealer. Our sale to Saadet Ofset took place about 4 years ago. At the beginning of the year, we installed a machine in İzzet Label. We will install the 2 flexo, cold foil, knife unit machines that can operate both semi-rotary and full rotary, which we exhibited at our stand, at Olcay Label after the fair.
Brotech modular machine. As a company, they are flexible and position themselves according to what kind of machine the customer needs. They have a solution for every aspect of finishing needs, from screen printing to sleeve finishing, cutting, and foiling unit. At Labelexpo, they introduced a coating finishing with an inkjet head, and there was also a cold foil option as variable data. They also introduced sleeve products. They can offer all the finishing solutions a label company needs.
- The added value is in the finishing. How is the industry reacting to this?
Let me share this information: If we take the printing quantities at HP Indigo as a reference, the growth in digital printing in the last 10 years is around 600%. Finishing is a matter of supply and demand. Previously, not many functions were required in finishing machines. As such, that field was not challenging, but when printing improved, new digital machines entered the market, and the number of HP Indigo increased exponentially, the interest in finishing also increased in the market.
The last Labelexpo fair was like a fair of digital machines and finishing. There were also flexo machines, but there was definitely a finisher in the stands where the flexo machines were located. In my opinion, the most installed machines at the fair were finishing machines in different configurations.
Turkey is also adapting to this. Maybe we are a little further behind, but this gap was much clearer before. I experienced processes where there were 80 sales at a fair in Asia Pacific. However, now the gap is not that clear. Because production capabilities in Turkey have also increased. Now our production companies are more competitive. Our quality has increased. We have increased our quality due to competition. That's why the market is growing in Turkey and the demands are also growing. Every day, companies are brainstorming how to make the label better.
