While the new HP Indigo V12 and 200K stand out among the solutions exhibited at the Labelexpo HP stand, Matset A.Ş. sold an Indigo K6, and sales were also made at ABG and Lombardi

Matset A.Ş., one of the Mat Group companies, will be at Labelexpo Europe 2023 with a team of seven people at the stands of the companies it represents, especially HP Indigo (Asahi, ABG, Cron, Lombardi). ) hosted visitors from Turkey. At the HP stand at the fair, General Manager Doğu Pabuççuoğlu answered our questions.

  • After four years, you are at Labelexpo in the same area, with a new machine at the HP stand. Can we get your impressions of the fair and stand?

HP appeared before the visitors with two new machines after 48 months. One is the all-new, 12-color HP Indigo V12, a high-speed machine. They made the first sale of the machine yesterday. Beta testing has been going on for about a year, but this process is slowly coming to an end. I guess they will allow distributors like us to sell before drupa. There is a customer with whom we have preliminary discussions. You can't buy the machine when you say 'I bought it', some more work needs to be done. They look at your work cart, analyze it, etc. I can say that we have one or two sales potential in Turkey.

Second machine, HP Indigo 200K. It was previously released as 20K and developed as 25K. The biggest difference between 25K and 200K is speed. The machine is 30% faster, which increases its efficiency. It will replace 25K in the long term.

Apart from the machines, there are software-related improvements. In particular, security improvements are increasing. With the pandemic, many fake and imitation products were put into circulation. To prevent these, companies are looking for different solutions. HP answers all of these. We inform our customers who come here regarding this. We will do a study on this when we return.

A well-known honey producer in Turkey prints secure labels in printing houses using HP Indigo in Europe. Because that honey is counterfeited a lot. I wonder why it doesn't print on HP Indigo machines in Turkey. Companies in Turkey do not believe in the importance of adding value to the product. You cannot expect the end user in the B2B market to be aware of this. They don't come to these fairs and someone needs to explain these solutions to them. This was the most important thing that this fair gave me.

We sold an Indigo 6K at the fair. Together with him, we have sold 6 6K units in the last nine months. We had a total of 80 HP Indigo machines on the market.

We are attending Avrasya Ambalaj Istanbul 2023 and will exhibit an HP Indigo 6K and a 25K (76 cm) there too. Both have been sold and will be sent to customers after being exhibited at the fair.

We are in talks regarding Lombardi. The fair is going better than I expected. The number of customers who can come is low, the reason for this is the visa problem. The customer to whom we sold 6K could not come and we approved the sale instead. If he had come, we would have held his ceremony here. We sold an ABG large configuration machine, we sold a Lombardi, but their customers couldn't come either. The customers could not come, but we placed their orders on their behalf to the manufacturers 15 minutes after the fair opened. Still, even if the companies took the money, they wanted to see the customer.

The fair is going well, but I think Avrasya Ambalaj will go better for us. The last time we attended interpack, that fair did not go very well. The reason is the visa problem. Neither Middle Easterners, nor Russians, nor Asians could get visas. They will all come to Turkey. This will directly affect our customers and indirectly us positively. The future looks bright.

  • Is there a demand for post-printing?

There is demand. Works with ABG and Brotech
